At DoLA, we love all food, but sweets hold a special place in our hearts. Sweets combined with breakfast, now that's another story. A favorite breakfast item is always a fresh stack of pancakes straight from the griddle, finished off with maple syrup or all done up with whipped cream, fresh fruit, chocolate drizzle, and more. If you're a fan of the simple griddle cake on its own or are looking to eat dessert for breakfast, say no more. Here are ten spots we love to stop by for pancakes in Los Angeles, plus, make sure to watch the extra special video we made during our visit to Cici's, the very first spot on our list!

Want a challenge? Hit up Cici's in Tarzana for over 80 types of pancakes. Yes, we said it, 80 types of pancakes. We profiled several Cici's dishes over on our socials, so you can see their delicacies up close and personal. Some of our choice picks are the Spy Walker cakes (red velvet with Nutella, Oreos, and more), and their special soufflé pancakes, which may be the fluffiest griddle plate we've ever tried.

At Breakfast by Salt's Cure, the menu is brief and to the point. The main thing about it? Chef Chris Phelps's signature oatmeal griddle cakes. They come in five different flavor variations, one of our favorites being the pink lady apple iteration.

8221 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90048
This West Hollywood spot often has a long wait, but it's so worth it. With an extensive menu that offers pretty much anything you want for breakfast or brunch, the pancakes stand out. Order the simply perfect tri-berry pancakes. The pancakes come out on a plate as big as your head, with fresh berries and powdered sugar. If you need your pancakes to be gluten-free, all you have to do is ask!

353 N Pass Ave, Burbank, CA 91505
Bea Bea's in Burbank has a tagline we can get behind. They say their restaurant is "where breakfast is everything," and we couldn't agree more. This spot on Pass Ave is known for its vast pancake offerings, which includes a green-tea flavored stack, black sesame-infused cakes, and even a savory plate, the "Bea Bea's Breakfast Pancake," an over-medium egg, ham, and cheddar cheese in the form of a pancake.

7916 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90046
The Griddle Cafe is another Hollywood spot with pancakes worth waiting in line for. Be prepared for massive plates of fluffy pancakes, in various flavor combinations, but we recommend going with the original first, their stack of "Good Ol' Fashioned." Or, go for their outrageous "All About Da Bass" peanut butter-banana pancakes!

2498 S Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90007
Dubbed a "breakfast all day kinda place," Jacks N Joe near USC doesn't disappoint when it comes to what might be our fave meal of the day. We hear their "WTF" pancakes are must try—they're not your average round pancake. Instead, they're squiggles, and random shapes thrown on the griddle, served fresh with powdered sugar and fruit. Because what's breakfast time without a little artistry?

2128 Hillhurst Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027
You're probably like, Little Dom's for *not* for dinner? Just wait a second, then. This Italian staple in Los Feliz also serves a tasty, classic European breakfast menu, with one standout battered item, their ricotta, and fresh blueberry pancakes. Adding ricotta cheese to pancakes makes them extra fluffy, and the sour-sweet flavor of blueberries cuts the sweetness just enough.

Honey Hi has a special place in our hearts. This Echo Park spot focuses on healthy, seasonal eats with a menu that's globally inspired. Honey Hi's hazelnut and sprouted brown rice flour pancakes are the bomb and have toppings that change regularly. Right now, get yours topped with chai-spiced coconut whipped cream (vegan, FYI!), and nutty cacao granola.

6333 W 3rd St Los Angeles, CA 90036
Open since 1938, Du-Par's is one of LA's most historic restaurants and just the right place to go if you want an old-fashioned feeling served right up with your short stack. The location we go to is in the Farmer's Market on Fairfax, where we recommend ordering their legendary buttermilk hotcakes with warm maple syrup. Need we say more?
