Best Places to Watch Fireworks in LA

It's not a Party in the U.S.A. without fireworks...

There's nothing quite like watching fireworks sparkle above the glittering ocean. The city of Marina del Rey is hosting its annual Fourth of July firework spectacular, which you can view from several spots along the coastline. Burton Chace Park and Fisherman’s Village are your best bets for prime views, but you can watch the 20-minute extravaganza from nearly anywhere nearby including the Venice Pier, Playa Vista, or Dockweiler Beach.

Cinespia always hosts a classic movie night during Fourth of July, and this year is no exception. After watching the quirky Tim Burton flick, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, moviegoers will be treated to a firework show on 7/1. The movie starts at 9 pm and the fireworks will begin immediately after.

If you’re looking for ways to celebrate Independence Day in the Valley, then you have to check out Councilman Bob Blumenfield’s July 4th Extravaganza. Each year, the free event delights patriotic attendees with its dazzling display of red, white, and blue fireworks. Before the 20-minute display fires off above 20,000 people, come by and enjoy a free concert, plus goods from tons of food and craft vendors. This event is free to the public!

The Long Beach Waterfront firework show never disappoints. The show begins at 9 pm on the 4th, and will be visible along the entire Waterfront area. Other prime viewpoints include Lions Lighthouse for Sight, Shoreline Village, Rainbow Harbor, and Marina Green. If you want a more up-close-and-personal look at the pyrotechnics, Harbor Breeze Cruises is offering special viewing rides.

Enjoy the Fourth of July at Universal Studios with their star-spangled firework spectacular. After getting your Mummy and Jurassic Park rides in, take in the festive decor, musical performances, and special themed treats before the fireworks burst in the air at 9 pm.

Are you ready for some fun, fun, fun? The iconic half-shell amphitheater is the perfect place to catch some firework action while enjoying some great live music. This year, American surf rock legends, The Beach Boys are playing three nights at the Bowl to celebrate America's birthday. "Wouldn't It Be Nice" if we watched the fireworks sparkle above the legendary venue together? Tickets are still available for all three shows!

DTLA's largest free Fourth of July celebration is reinvented! For the first time in Gloria Molina Grand Park’s 10-year history, an incredible drone show — not traditional fireworks — will light up the night sky. The dynamic and pet-friendly 12-minute drone show will fly above The Music Center and be orchestrated to a specially curated hip-hop playlist. The festivities also include performances from legendary hip-hop artist Bahamadia and famed DJ Cut Chemist with rapper Chali 2na. Food trucks, snacks, and an augmented reality-filled digital playground will also be available for everyone to enjoy.

Take us out to the fireworks! The boys are playing a home game this year against the Pittsburgh Pirates followed by a firework show that'll light up the night sky after we (hopefully) win by a landslide. Get ready to root, root, roots for the Dooooodgers and enjoy a dazzling display of fireworks above the iconic baseball stadium.

Culver City is getting in on the Independence Day action this year with its own Fourth of July festival and fireworks display at dusk. Come enjoy food trucks, live music, prizes, lots of family fun, and, of course, gorgeous a gorgeous firework show at West LA College. Tickets are only $10 and all funds raised go to local youth-focused charities. Children five and under get in for free!
